Workforce management software can help streamline the redundancy process for firms going into administration
Workforce management software can significantly streamline the redundancy process for companies going into administration, such as Pembrokeshire engineering company Mainport Engineering, who has recently had to make 70 employees redundant.
The company provides engineering services, mainly to the petrochemical industry and is based in Pembroke Dock. It has traded since 1990 but struggled in recent times following the closure of the Murco Oil Refinery in Milford Haven in 2014.
Roger Hale and Rob Lewis of PwC were appointed as joint administrators to Mainport Engineering (1990) Ltd on 27 October 2016.
The administrators are aiming to preserve as many jobs as possible. But 69 employees were made redundant immediately out of the total workforce of 157.
Roger Hale, joint administrator and director at PwC, said: "The company has had a long tradition of employing people in the local area, and we are focused on doing all we can to preserve as many jobs as we can while we look to see whether any part of the business can be saved. We would welcome a dialogue with all parties interested in the company’s business and its assets."
Firms of any size that face the prospect of cutting their staff numbers (or making them redundant) should also consider a serious optimization of its business processes, and this is exactly where Time & Attendance – Wales can help, since our company offers a very comprehensive set of products aimed at minimizing all of the HR-related costs.
Our advanced hardware and software solutions allow customers to easily remove staff from the database, but also to restrict access rights for the members of an organization to a specific location, when one of our Access Control systems has also been installed on the premises.
