Welsh business confidence continues solid growth, report suggests
Business confidence levels among Welsh companies have increased significantly over the past 12 months, against the overall trend recorded across the UK, a recent news report in the local business media was able to reveal.
A solid rise in sales volume and exports contributed to the growth in confidence, the latest UK Business Confidence Monitor from Grant Thornton and ICAEW points out.
Companies are also investing more in employee development, as staff turnover was considered a "greater challenger" compared to 2013.
Louise Evans, managing partner for Grant Thornton in Cardiff, said: "It is highly encouraging that here in Wales business confidence in the future is not only continuing the upward trend we have experienced for the last two years – but is now at an all-time high.
"However, there remains the continuing concern of a shortage of employees with the skills required by businesses to ensure they are perfectly placed to make the most of the opportunities currently available for expansion and development."
Investing in a system designed to help streamline workforce and skill management across an organization is certainly a must for all companies looking to develop in a very solid and sustainable manner.
