Up to 100 new jobs might be created by new retail scheme in Newport
The former Megabowl site at Newport Retail Park is the subject of redevelopment plans submitted by Agent Indigo Planning on behalf of Sports Direct and Johnsey Estates UK Ltd. Should these plans get the green light from the Newport City Council, the site is set to be split into two retail outlets, in a scheme which could create 100 new jobs.
As a news report in the local media has revealed, the site, which has been vacant since 2005, is set to host a Sports Direct store occupying a total of 35,000 sq ft and a Home Bargains store taking up 19,500 sq ft.
The two stores would require the creation of 34 full-time and 66 part-time roles, while in the same time helping to "bring back into beneficial use a long-standing vacant building to the benefit of this area of Newport".
Any company addition of extra locations and staff should also seriously consider the set-up of a high-end, efficient and effective access control and time and attendance system, and this is specifically where Time & Attendance Wales will prove its worth.

Furthermore, the system also offers a series of additional features employers would certainly find handy, such as Weekly Clock Card, Payroll Summary, Absence Summary, Fire Roll Call or Shift Swapping.
