Stem cell business to create 50 new jobs in South Wales following relocation

50 new jobs are set to be created after stem cell business ReNeuron will relocate to a South Wales location following a successful funding round.

According to a news report on the matter, the company has recently managed to secure £33m in funding, including £7.8m from the Welsh Government and cash from the Welsh Life Sciences Investment Fund.

The business is currently based in Guildford in the South East of England, but it is set to establish a cell manufacturing and development facility in South Wales after securing the cash.

Pat Huggins, head of finance at ReNeuron, said that it was planning to offer its 25 members of staff the chance to relocate and was aiming to create a further 50 jobs in Wales.

"As we’re setting up a large facility at a brand new site, we’ll be manufacturing so we need to fully staff it," he said. "It’ll be progressive in terms of hiring but we’re looking to get up to 50 new posts."
