Sony set to create 26 new jobs at its Welsh customer service centre
Consumer electronics giant Sony has just announced plans to create 26 new permanent positions for the Sony UK Technology Centre (UKTEC) at Pencoed near Bridgend, a news report in the local business media has recently revealed.
These new roles will support all aspects of camera manufacturing from logistics and assembly to testing and packaging, will also help with the delivery of third-party projects, advanced LED technology, medical devices and the Raspberry Pi computer.
Steve Dalton, managing director of Sony UK Technology Centre, said: "We’ve had a successful few years, which has seen us expand our Sony product portfolio as well as win significant manufacturing deals of non-Sony products.
"This diversification has been our key to survival. It has led to our success and enabled us to create additional job opportunities in Wales."
