Plans put forward for redevelopment of former BBC site in Cardiff

Plans have been submitted to the Cardiff City Council for the redevelopment of the site currently occupied by BBC Wales after the broadcaster will move to a new site in Central Square by 2018, a news report in the local business media has been able to reveal.

Taylor Wimpey agreed a deal to purchase the site from the BBC, subject to securing planning permission, in January 2015.

Savills has now submitted an outline planning application to Cardiff City Council on behalf of the property developer, which covers the demolition of the current buildings to make way for up to 400 new homes.

The scheme, designed by architects Downs Merrifield, features a mix of apartments, townhouses, detached, semi-detached and terraced housing along with new roads and public space. It also includes a "landmark" six-story building.

Time & Attendance – Wales can help any residential developer turn staff management into a much easier and more streamlined process. The platform supplies and extensive level of functionality, from simple clocking when arriving on site to complex operations, such as specific job costings and export to payroll features.

Additionally, we supply a very versatile access control solution for companies actively involved in the construction segment. Construction workers and other people who hold a CSCS card can use their existing card to clock onto a Time & Attendance system and/or gain access to a construction site or similar, or use the CSCS card to gain access through turnstiles or car park barriers.

If you’d like to find out more about the range of access control solutions supplied by Time & Attendance – Wales, just contact us or Book a Demo, we’d be more than happy to answer any question or query you might have.
