Our time and attendance software can improve even successful companies
A new Museum of Speed, “Sands of Speed,” has been planned at Pendine Sands in Carmarthenshire, with a 13-room 42-bed eco hostel, outdoor events space and new exhibition.
The plans are nearing approval, having been recommended by council officers. The new museum and eco-lodge are predicted to provide £3.3m boost to the local economy directly and indirectly per year, with 60 jobs created on-site.
The current Museum of Speed at Pendine Sands in Carmarthenshire was the venue for five successful world land speed record attempts. The nearby beach was then used as a firing range by the Ministry of Defence.
The report to be considered by Carmarthenshire’s Councillors reads: "The museum replaces an existing facility, however the scale and height is significantly greater than the existing building. Modern museums are by necessity functional so the form is dictated by the intended internal space.
"The fenestration of the main exhibition hall is primarily onto the public square facing west and facing east up the beach towards the site of the land speed records. The design is intended to be iconic and form a land mark on the coast. Given the location the scale and height is not likely to have an unacceptable adverse impact on third parties …
"…The scheme overall would form an attraction which would enhance Pendine as a visitor attraction and pay homage to its land speed history. The supporting information suggests that it would produce an additional £3.3m in the local economy directly and indirectly per year, so would be of significant economic benefit to the county. "
The application’s design and access statement, put together by Asbri planning, reads: "The project architects have developed a project which aims to draw people from the village and further afield through an educational and playful journey to the focal point of the project: the Sands of Speed Museum."
______________
The combination of a new building combined with a new staff roster can make management time and attendance difficult if you still rely on a manual system. No-one really knows who their co-workers are and when everyone is working yet, so employees could clock in for their late friends or write down false overtime in their paper timesheets.
Another example is the incredible amount of processing time that timesheets can cost payroll staff. They need to transfer often illegible handwriting individually onto Excel spreadsheets in order to convert it into data they can deal with for payroll. One typo or mis-reading of a number could completely change an employee’s payslip for that month. Not to mention that this stage is another opening for wage fraud.
At Time and Attendance Wales we provide specialised time and attendance management software which can work with contactless smartcards, or with fingerprint and handprint biometrics for that ultimate sense of security. Our sturdy clocking stations remove the possibility of time fraud (also known as “buddy-punching”) from your workforce.
The state of the art WinTA.NET software suite can handle much more than just basic clocking in and out. Here is a non-exhaustive list of everything it could do for you:
• Job booking & job costing,
• Labour hours analysis
• Security management (including quality CCTV playback).
• Control over working patterns rules,
• Monitors and warns about the EU working time regulations and the EU road transport directive regulations.
It has a familiar Windows™ interface and can hold details of your employees, including a photograph of each person if required.
Available in Lite, Small Business and Enterprise editions, the WinTA.NET Time and Attendance Software is a cost-effective solution for those employing from 10 to 10,000+ staff – so pretty much everyone!
