Office system gives employee absence entitlement based upon length of service
In the financial year 2010-11 it cost the taxpayer more than £84 million to run employment tribunals and the Employment Appeal Tribunal in England, Wales and Scotland, from Ministry of Justice figures. According to the Treasury more than 80% of applications made to an employment tribunal did not result in a full hearing. When applicants withdraw their cases, their employers are still required to pay legal defence costs. This has led to calls for unfair dismissal claims for lazy workers to be scrapped.
Time and Attendance Wales supply rostering and clocking systems that are the best there is at controlling absence and entitlement management, plus absenteeism and lateness reporting at work. Each employee can be allocated different entitlements for absence such as annual leave or allowed sickness. As absence is booked and taken, the available remainder for each entitlement is updated. Entitlement formulae are used to calculate more complex entitlements that work on a rising scale based upon length of service.
