Legal & General’s chief executive, Nigel Wilson, believes that South Wales’s advantages include a “skilled, dynamic workforce”, university involvement and strong political leadership.

However, the chief exec also argued that Wales was “an underperforming small country” whose economy would benefit most from attracting a “transformational” inward investor.
