Insurance company to take 500 more staff members in Newport

A well-known insurance company is set to take on board more than 500 additional employees for its office in Newport, a recent news report in the local media was able to reveal.

Admiral’s office in the Welsh city had space for about 1,200 employees, but only between 650 and 670 work there now.

The 83,000 sq ft office provides space for staff who handle claims. And it houses the group’ s BDE Law team which moved there from Cardiff in August 2014.

The office features communal areas, bike storage, lots of natural light, and a “get ready room” for staff preparing for a night out.

Admiral is also moving staff from its old Cardiff office to its new headquarters near the St David’s shopping centre in the capital at the rate of about 250 employees per week.
