Engineering firm to create 100 new jobs for new factory
A new factory that’s currently under construction in the Haven Waterway Enterprise Zone will likely create around 100 local jobs, a recent news report in the local business media has been able to find.
Main Port Engineering says its Cleddau Reach factory will create 30 new positions and safeguard the current workforce of 155, while also possibly supporting the creation of 100 further jobs on the future.
The firm provides engineering services to the petro chemical, food processing, water treatment, manufacturing and power generation industries. It is also working with the Welsh Government on new opportunities in the marine and nuclear sectors.
The company’s Director, Jeff Harries, said "This expansion will mark a new phase in our business and provides the space we need to grow and take a much more active part in the new developments in the marine and nuclear industry.
"Like many companies in the area, our business was affected by the closure of the Murco oil refinery, however I am confident that we will create 100 new jobs at the end of this project and employ more than 250 people in total."
