Electronics firm to create 138 new jobs in Swansea

An electronics firm that specializes in providing a repair and refurbishment service for products returned under warranty to major retailers has revealed plans to create 138 new jobs after relocating to a larger site.

As part of an investment worth more than £2m, Trojan Electronics is to move to a building at the old Visteon factory site in Fabian Way.

"This is a hugely important step for us and the largest investment made since the company started in 2002," said Trojan finance director Malcolm Rash.

"We look forward to reuniting all our operations and staff into one location and gearing up to meet the growing demand for our services in the UK and Europe."

The Welsh Government is helping out with the move by providing a £1.5m property development grant for the refurbishment of the 180,000 sq ft Kings Dock Building and £625,000 business finance towards the fitting out of a new 156,000 sq ft headquarters within the property.

Economy minister Edwina Hart commented: "The investment is not only creating a significant number of new jobs in one of our key sectors but also secures the future of the business."
