Care homes need to keep track of attendance
A former nightclub in Penally has had plans confirmed to transform it into a 31-bed nursing home.
The plans for the former DJ’s Nightclub were submitted by Argent Architects on behalf of Stamatios Zouras.
Once the redevelopment is finished, the nursing home will have 11 full-time and four part-time vacancies to fill.
The application read: “A new nursing home that can provide good quality of life and care for older people in Pembrokeshire is something that will clearly benefit the local society.
"The proposed adapted building is well sized to provide a 31-bed facility with minimal disruption to the locality.
"It is well located and comes with generous car parking. With careful design and a focused management team there is every reason to expect successful outcome in response to a clear need."

Re-designing a whole building is difficult enough without taking into account the different needs between a nightclub and a nursing home! One element which is often overlooked is a high-quality time and attendance system such as our WinTA.NET software and clocking terminal.
Staff are always coming and going in a care home, especially if there is a community element or contractors for cleaning, specialised healthcare or entertainment. It is vital that the managers know who is on site, not only for the security and reputation of the care home, but also for visitors’ safety in situations such as fire alarms.
Our time and attendance system records everyone’s entrance and exit from controlled doors, using either smartcards or the more expensive but more secure biometric measurements of hands or fingerprints. If you combine it with our access control system, you can have a detailed representation of exactly who is where in the building whenever you need it.
