Busy enterprise zone to get a significant road upgrade

The B4265 between Gileston and Oldmill is set to undergo a major upgrade process worth £3m, in an attempt to make it safer for drivers and also attract more investment to the area, a brand-new report in the local media has revealed.

The road-straightening project is being carried out by the Vale of Glamorgan Council on behalf of the Welsh Government, and should be completed by the end of the year, authorities claim.

Edwina Hart, minister for economy, science and transport, said: "This investment demonstrates the Welsh Government’s commitment to making a success of the St Athan and Cardiff Airport Enterprise Zone."

Professor Garel Rhys, chairman of the enterprise zone, said: "This project is vital to the long-term future of the St Athan and Cardiff Airport Enterprise Zone and will open many new investment opportunities to help the zone develop and realise its potential."
