Furniture maker goes on recruitment drive


A furniture maker has recently opened its third North Wales factory on the Deeside Industrial Estate, creating more than 200 new jobs in the process, a recent news report in the local media has been able to reveal.

Westbridge Furniture Designs was supported by £488,000 of business finance from the Welsh Government, which was originally intended to lead to the creation of 153 jobs by the end of 2015.

Maritime engineering firm doubles staff within a year after being bought out of administration


A Pembroke Dock-based maritime engineering company has more than doubled its staff after being bought out of administration a year ago, a recent news report in the locals business media has been able to find.
 
Mainstay Marine Solutions was bought out of administration in May 2014 by a group of nine investors and has since grown from 27 employees in June 2014 to 60.

The Welsh Government is set to embarke on a major scheme worth £108m that aims to improve its extensive housing stock, a recent news report in the local media has been able to reveal.

The funding will be used by local authorities and Registered Social Landlords to improve homes and ensure they are safe, secure and met the Welsh Housing Quality Standard (WHQS).

Plans put forward for redevelopment of former BBC site in Cardiff


Plans have been submitted to the Cardiff City Council for the redevelopment of the site currently occupied by BBC Wales after the broadcaster will move to a new site in Central Square by 2018, a news report in the local business media has been able to reveal.

Taylor Wimpey agreed a deal to purchase the site from the BBC, subject to securing planning permission, in January 2015.
