Workforce management solutions can help firms going through tough times
Having a solid and reliable workforce management system in place can potentially help firms navigate easier through tough times, such as when faced with administration.
This exact unfortunate situation has recently affected Deeside-based pallet maker V Evans Group Ltd, trading as Vaughans, who manufactures wooden pallets from premises in Flint in North Wales and employs six full-time members of staff.
Patrick Lannagan and Conrad Pearson of Mazars were appointed as joint administrators over the company on 29 July 2016.
Following the appointment, the administrators completed a sale of the business with the employees, along with goodwill and assets, transferring.
Patrick Lannagan said: "The company ran into cash-flow difficulties, and as a result of creditor pressure the director took the decision to place it into administration.
"Following a marketing process, during which a number of interested parties made enquiries, an offer was accepted, with a sale completed on 29 July 2016, following the company entering into administration.
"The employees’ contracts were taken over by the purchaser along with the name/goodwill and assets.
