Up to 100 jobs at risk as coach company set to go under administration

Up to 100 employees at a Pembrokeshire coach operator could lose their jobs as the company is set to file for administration, a recent news report in the local business media has been able to suggest.

The company, Silcox Coaches has sent a letter to staff explaining that a buyer is being sought and detailing the plans.

Founded in 1882, is based at Pembroke Dock with a second base in Tenby. It has operated bus services in the region since 1932 but, unfortunately, it is expected to file for administration this week in order to protect the company while a new owner is sought.

The company has a contract with Pembrokeshire County Council to run school bus services and also supplies coaches to local sports teams.

About 100 staff are currently employed, including drivers and mechanics as well as office and managerial staff.

The council has said it was aware of the possible restructuring of the business and would continue to pay it for its work in line with contractual obligations.

Firms of any size that face the prospect of cutting their staff numbers (or making them redundant) should also consider a serious optimization of its business processes, and this is exactly where Time & Attendance – Wales can help, since our company offers a very comprehensive set of products aimed at minimizing all of the HR-related costs.

Our advanced hardware and software solutions allow customers to easily remove staff from the database, but also to restrict access rights for the members of an organization to a specific location, when one of our Access Control systems has also been installed on the premises.
