Media company creates multiple jobs after expanding to new Cardiff base
A new media company has created 45 jobs after expanding in Cardiff and receiving significant support from the Welsh Government, a recent news report has been able to suggest.
A £1m grant helped secure the inward investment for Wales, ahead of Salt Lake City where Sorensen Media’s parent company is headquartered. The funding was issued in four stages over 18 months as Sorenson Media established and grew its European operation based in Cardiff. Tthe investment also helped speed the opening of its new office in Cardiff and the development of products.
Economy minister Edwina Hart said: "Sorenson Media operates in one of our fastest growing sectors and I am delighted support from the Welsh Government helped it establish its European headquarters in Cardiff where it is delivering highly skilled jobs.
"The company’s knowledge and competence in the field of next generation television, coupled with the pan-European scope of their offerings for the broadcast industry, provides a strong foundation for continued job creation and technology development in Wales."
