Building company to create 40 new jobs following investment in new HQ
A Welsh building company will invest £1.3m in new Llanrwst headquarters as part of plans to create 40 jobs, a news report in the local business media has found.
GM Jones Ltd, who currently employs 116 staff and reported an increase in revenue from £3.6m in 2012 to £6.9m in 2015, acquired land on Parc Ty Gwyn from the Welsh Government to build 13,700 sq ft premises including offices, workshop space and a showroom. The expansion has been supported by £400,000 from the Wales Economic Fund that will enable GM Jones Ltd to create 40 jobs and safeguard a further 46.
Commercial director Jenny Hudson said: "We are experiencing on-going growth and our new premises will be vitally important for the business – enabling us to realise our growth potential, providing us with the resources and space to expand.
"We cannot continue at our current level of trading at our existing premises and Welsh Government support was essential in enabling us to go ahead with this investment and planned job creation."
