Up to 1,500 new homes to be built in Cardiff as part of local Housing Partnership Programme
Up to 1,500 new houses are set to be built in Cardiff as part of the £33m Housing Partnership Programme launched by the Cardiff City Council, a recent news report in the local media has been able to suggest.
The scheme is aimed at tackling growing demand for affordable housing in the city and will comprise about 600 council homes as well as properties for sale on the open market.
Susan Elsmore, the council’s cabinet member for health, housing and wellbeing, said: "One of the key objectives of the City of Cardiff Council’s Housing Partnership Programme is to invest in the regeneration of our communities and deliver real community benefits, including the creation of long-term, sustainable local training and employment opportunities.
"We will be investing up to £33m in this scheme, and are really looking forward to working with Wates Living Space on such an exciting project that will play a crucial role in tackling the city’s housing need."
