Door manufacturer to build new 194,000 sq ft factory in Oakdale
A door manufacturing company has revealed plans to build a new 194,000 sq ft factory on a 25-acre site in Oakdale, safeguarding about 140 jobs with the potential to create about 260 new jobs in the future, a recent news report in the local business media has been able to reveal.
IG Doors, which is owned by the Hörmann Group, supplies the housebuilding industry with composite external doorsets in steel and glass reinforced polymer.
The company’s existing factory in Cwmbran will reach full capacity by next year. IG had the option of either to move manufacturing to a plant with spare capacity in Europe, or invest in a new site in Wales.
The Welsh Government provided £1m of business finance which helped to secure the project.
