Half of Welsh SMEs plan to take on more employees over the next 12 months

Around half of Welsh SMEs plan to take more employees on board over the next 12 months, a recent news report in the local business media has been able to reveal.

Data from a new HSBC Commercial Banking survey suggests that, out of all the business participating in the survey, 56 per cent expect turnover growth in the next 12 months, with more than a third expecting growth of at least 6 per cent.

Nigel Davis, HSBC’s head of business banking in Wales, said: "This survey shows that SMEs (small and medium enterprises) in Wales are confident about growth, with half set to hire full-time staff to help them grow."
