Eco-builder creates jobs after securing funding
A company specializing in low carbon eco-build timber framed homes has revealed plans to create jobs and invest in its premises at Bala Enterprise Park after securing the necessary funding from the Welsh Government.
Williams Homes has invested £360,000 in renovating its headquarters, supported by £240,000 from the Wales Economic Growth Fund. It has also secured innovation funding from the Welsh Government to support research into the development of energy efficient homes.
As a result, the firm has created 30 new positions, taking its total workforce to 50. It has also managed to safeguard 13 existing jobs and take on seven apprentices.
Joint managing director Sion Williams said: "We were operating at full capacity and space constraints meant we were not able to work as efficiently and effectively as we would have liked and did not have any available space to take on more staff to meet the growing demand for our products.
"Buying our own premises gave us the incentive to invest in the property and support from the Economic Growth Fund was invaluable. It helped us invest in improvements and create jobs while also supporting indirect employment at a number of sub-contractors that we use regularly."
