Business confidence soaring across Welsh businesses in Swansea, report suggests

Confidence levels among businesses based in Wales’ Swansea Bay area is rising at a very fast pace, the Swansea Bay Business Club’s business barometer for Q1, 2014, has just revealed.

According to a report in the local business media on this matter, the study, based on a survey of companies from the area, reveals that 46 per cent of respondents believe their performance over the next quarter will be better than the last. This is a huge increase compared to the 26 per cent registered just three months earlier.

Furthermore, 49 per cent of companies participating in this survey reported that their overall performance in the most recent quarter had been stronger than the quarter before, a 9% increase compared to the previous quarter.

Bruce Roberts, president of Swansea Bay Business Club, said: "It is a new year and seemingly the time for a new chapter in the local economy. The outcome of the second business barometer is encouraging with a continued rise in business performance and a staggering leap of 20 per cent in positivity and optimism for the second quarter of the year."
