Former nurse on trial for putting patients at risks by having two jobs
A former nurse for the Swansea NHS Trust has just gone on trial for allegedly working two jobs at the same time, thus posing a risk for her patients’ safety.
Beside the aforementioned position, Denise Davies, aged 55, was also employed as an agency nurse at Trostre steelworks. The court heard that between the two jobs, she would have been working 19 hours a day, four days a week.
Furthermore, the nurse purposely ignored her official job description policies, which prompted her to officially inform her employers regarding her second job.
Such unfortunate situations can be easily sorted by prosecutors after checking each employer’s time and attendance records. This can be a fairly difficult tasks at times, unless the respective company has an advanced electronic clocking system installed, such as the ones provided by Time and Attendance Wales.
Our systems allows employers to create a complete and comprehensive database of all their employees, starting with their personal details and photographs and also including specific details regarding their shifts, not to mention complete logs of their attendance.
Moreover, the custom Time and Attendance Wales software allows for the fast and easy search of employee-related information, a feature that can really come in handy especially in the case of an inquiry such as the one described above.
