Smart card entry means swift exit guaranteed in an emergency
A fire crew from Johnstown and three from Wrexham were called to Wrexham Maelor Hospital on Friday after staff raised the alarm. A small conflagration was reported in a room off the unoccupied outpatient ward at the hospital at 23:39 GMT. In addition smoke affected two more wards leading to the removal of patients, including three infants as a precaution, however there were no reports of injuries. The infants were returned to their special care unit after the fire was put out.
